POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE AND STAFF SCIENTIST AT MENDEL BIOTECHNOLOGY

Mendel Biotechnology Inc. is situated in the San Francisco Bay area.
We seek individuals with exceptional creativity, motivation and
scientific abilities to join us in the challenge and opportunity of
plant biotechnology and functional genomics. Mendel offers an

Two positions are currently available at a postdoctoral associate or
a staff scientist level:

   1. One position is available within the Genomics Program; a
      multidisciplinary program aimed at improving crop productivity
      through the functional analysis of transcription factor genes
      in Arabidopsis. Candidates must have a Ph.D. with several years
      of relevant experience, and the ability to work well in a
      multi-cultural team based environment. We are particularly
      interested in individuals with proficiency in plant molecular
      biology, and expertise in plant stress physiology that can
      assist in microarray data mining and follow-up testing.

   2. A second position is open at Mendel in a project funded by the
      Advanced Technology Program (ATP) in which we are assessing the
      effects of tissue specific and temporal expression of each of
      the Arabidopsis transcription factors in Arabidopsis and another
      species, tomato. The new hire will help to better characterize
      the two component system, and to analyze the promoter lines from
      both tomato and Arabidopsis. Expertise in molecular biology is
      required, and experience in Arabidopsis genetics and microscopy
