PhD position in chloroplast protein import

A PhD position (BAT-O IIa/2) is available in the group of Prof. R.B.
Kl=96sgen
at the Institute of Plant Physiology, University Halle-Wittenberg,
Germany

The position is available immediately to study the function of two
receptors in chloroplast
protein import in Arabidopsis. For a functional analysis, receptor
constructs will be used in
in vivo (complementation of mutant lines) and in vitro studies (protein
interaction studies).
The project is part of the Sonderforschungsbereich SFB 363 funded by the
DFG for three
years. It offers good training opportunities in a young group and an
excellent research
environment that is stimulated by the interaction with the other groups
in the SFB.
Candidates should hold a Masters, Diploma or a comparable degree in
biology or
biochemistry and have broad knowledge in molecular biology, biochemistry
and/or plant
physiology.
