<x-flowed iso-8859-1>Post-doctoral position in Molecular Genetics and
A post-doctoral position is available (september 2002) at INRA
-Versailles (France) to study the molecular mechanisms controlling
tip growth in Arabidopsis.
The goal of the project is to study novel genes (and proteins
encoded) involved in the specialized growth process called tip
growth. Mutants impaired in pollen tube and/or root hair elongation
process have been isolated from a T-DNA insertion mutants collection,
or following EMS mutagenesis leading to identification of several
novel proteins, which function will be studied by various approachs.
The successfull candidate will join a large group of molecular
biologists working for a long time on sexual plant reproduction in
Brassicacae. Mutants collections (and associated FST), and expertise
on their study, as well as broad cytology facilities (including CSLM)
are available in the lab, in addition to classical molecular biology
Desired profile: PhD in Cell and molecular biology. Strong
background in molecular biology, biochemistry and/or cytology will be
Duration: 23 months.
Starting date: Sept. 02-not later than March 03
