Applications are invited for two, three year, postdoctoral positions within
the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the John Innes Centre.

The first position is required to investigate the epigenetic regulation of
vernalization in Arabidopsis. The work will focus on the molecular function
of the Polycomb-group protein VRN2, which mediates vernalization response.
Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in molecular biology. Please

The second position is required to investigate the molecular evolution of
flowering time genes. The aim will be to correlate molecular variation in
known and new Arabidopsis flowering time loci conferring vernalization
requirement and response with adaptive phenotypic variation. Candidates
should have a PhD or equivalent in molecular biology with previous

Salary on appointment will be within the range 20,200 to 24,000 per annum
depending on qualifications and experience. Staff have the opportunity to
join a non-contributory superannuation scheme.
