Post-doctoral position
Iowa State University, Ames
A post-doctoral position is available from August 2002, for up to
three years, to study the role of vacuolar autophagy during nutrient
stress responses in Arabidopsis. Autophagy involves the uptake and
degradation of portions of cytoplasm by the vacuole, to recycle
components and maintain essential cell processes. The project will
involve the functional characterization of genes that are potentially
required for autophagy, using biochemical, cell biology and molecular
genetic techniques. A strong background in molecular biology is
essential, and experience in plant cell biology is an advantage.
Please send curriculum vitae, including list of publications,
description of research interests, and names and e-mail addresses of
three referees to Dr Diane Bassham, Department of Botany, 353 Bessey
Hall, Iowa State University, Ames, IA 50011, USA; e-mail
bassham at iastate.edu. See www.public.iastate.edu/~botany/bassham.html
