A postdoctoral position
is available at INRA of Versailles (France) in Georges Pelletier's lab
to study meiosis and meiotic recombination in the model plant
Arabidopsis thaliana.
The aim of this project is to study new genes involved in several
aspects of plant meiosis, to characterize their fonctions and their
interactions.
The successfull candidate will join an important team of molecular
biologists working on plant reproduction and will benefit from the
various tools already available in the lab: insertional mutants of the
Versailles collection of T-DNA transformants, FST (Flanking Sequence
Tags) of this collection, strong cytology and molecular biology
expertise (see for example Motamayor et al. (2000) Sex Plant Reprod. 12
: 209-218 ; Grelon et al. (2001) EMBO J. 20 : 1-13 ; Mercier et al.
2001 Genes and Dev. 15:1859-1871 and Mercier et al. 2001 Biochimie 83 :
1023-1028).
A strong background in molecular biology, or genetic or cytology will
be appreciated.
Applicants should not be french. Please forward an application
outlining research experience and interests, >curriculum
vitae, and the names and adresses of two references to
