A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr. Xuemei Chen at
the Waksman Institute at Rutgers University, the State University of New
Jersey. We have recently identified HEN1 as a key player in the
accumulation of small regulatory RNAs known as microRNAs in Arabidopsis
(Park and Li et al., Current Biology 12, 1484-1495).  The pleiotropic
developmental defects exhibited by the hen1 mutants (Chen et al.,
Development 129, 1085-1094) suggest that microRNAs act in many
developmental processes.  The successful candidate is expected to
elucidate the molecular functions of HEN1 in microRNA accumulation and
to identify microRNA target genes in several key developmental
processes.  People with strong biochemical skills are particularly
