A postdoctoral associate position is available to join a team of
researchers working in the development of a public gene knock-out
resource for the cultivated diploid wheat, Triticum monococcum. We
seek a highly motivated person with a Ph.D. degree who has
demonstrated an ability to carry out outstanding research in the
fields of plant biology, genetics, or related disciplines.
Additional qualifications include: (1) proven experience with
molecular biology techniques; (2) a track record of peer-reviewed
publications; (3) demonstrated written and oral communication skills;
and (4) demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of
a team. Responsibilities will include: (1) identification of specific
gene mutations in a large population of chemically-induced deletion
stocks of T. monococcum; (2) isolation, sequencing, and
characterization of genes involved in reproductive development; (3)
analysis and publication of results; (4) supervision and training of
students and other personnel working on this project; and (5)
assistance in the preparation of research grant proposals. To Apply:
