POSTDOCTORAL POSITION--MITOCHONDRIAL DNA--SEATTLE
A postdoctoral fellowship is available for two years beginning
immediately to study the structure and replication of chromosomal DNA
molecules within plant mitochondria. What is the nature of the
'blockage' at the ends of linear mtDNA molecules: is it due to a
bound topoisomerase or some other protein involved replication,
recombination or repair, or to an unusual DNA conformation?
The analytical techniques include DNA Moving Pictures, which
produce spectacular images of intact chromosomal DNA molecules as
long as 100 megabases.
