Postdoctoral position
Plant signal transduction
A postdoctoral position is available in September/October in Lehman
College, The City University of New York (CUNY). The Department of
Biological Sciences houses the Plant Sciences PhD Program, the
largest of its kind in NY City. The lab is well equipped, including
real-time PCR and microscopic imaging facility. Our previous work has
shown that ROP10 small GTPase negatively regulates abscisic acid
signaling (Plant Cell, 2002, 14: 2787) and that several other ROPs
are involved in nutrient stress responses. In addition to these
projects, the postdoc is particularly encouraged to initiate new
studies in signaling processes that govern plant response and
adaptation to environmental cues. Research projects and salary will
be determined based on the experience, mutual interests and
university policy. The postdoc should have a strong background and
technical expertise and a productive record in areas of plant
physiology and molecular biology or biochemistry. The initial
appointme nt is for two years (supported by the startup fund) and can
