Postgenomic Plant Biology course
The Oresund Summer University will run the tuition-free, international
Postgenomic Plant Biology course from July 17 to August 13, 2003 at the
Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (KVL) in Copenhagen,
Denmark. The course is aimed at students in the beginning of their
Masters or Ph.D. study. The course deals with whole-system approaches to
answer basic questions in Plant Biology/Biotechnology. Lectures include
current technology on the use of microarray, proteomics, metabolite
profiling, protein modeling/graphics, sequence analysis, generation of
mutants and phylogenetic trees, as well as posttranscriptional gene
silencing. Extensive computer exercises will give the students hands-on
experience on the tools available in the postgenomic era. Current
literature will be discussed in journal clubs. Head of Course: Barbara
