#  Plant Genomics Specialist position with Gramene

The successful candidate will work with a team of biologists and software
engineers to develop and maintain Gramene, a comparative grass genome database
(http://wwwgramene.org).

Responsibilities:
Includes one or more of the following activities: Identify, assemble and curate
emerging data from gene expression profiling (microarray) and proteome analysis
of rice and other cereal crops; Collect, assemble and curate 
information on rice
phenotypes, genes and alleles; Curate information on genetic, physical and
sequence-based maps; Help develop controlled vocabularies (ontologies) that are
essential for cross-species comparisons; Help develop a database module on
genetic diversity of populations.

Specialties:
Ph.D. in biology, including biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, genomics
or closely related field. 2-3 years of experience in one or more of the
following areas: comparative genome analysis, gene expression profiling,
proteome analysis, genetic analyses, plant development, physiology or
systematics. Experience with data mining of biological databases and management
of large, heterogeneous data sets. Familiarity with model organism databases
(Arabidopsis, rice, maize, yeast, fly, mouse). Creativity and motivation as a
scientist, ability to work in a team.
