ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF BIOCHEMISTRY

The Department of Biochemistry, University of Missouri-Columbia, 
invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant or Associate 
Professor positions, particularly from scientists studying the 
biochemistry and molecular biology of plants, yeast or animals. In a 
multi-year expansion, the department (www.biochem.missouri.edu) will 
complement existing strengths in receptors, signaling, proteins and 
enzymes, gene expression, radiopharmaceuticals, structural biology 
and plant biochemistry. The University is noted for interdisciplinary 
research programs, which will be enhanced by a $60 million Life 
Sciences Center opening in fall 2004.  Position qualifications 
include a Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related field or an M.D., and 
postdoctoral experience.  Successful applicants will have or develop 
an outstanding research program and contribute to Departmental 
teaching activities.  Involvement in campus-wide programs in cancer, 
cardiovascular disease, neurobiology and aging, nutrition, 
reproductive biology, plant biology or proteomics would be desirable.
