Laboratory Manager (Genomics Program)



The Plant Genomics Consortium at The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) 
seeks applicants for a position in plant genomics.  The consortium 
includes scientists from the NYBG, New York University, and Cold 
Spring Harbor Laboratory and the American Museum of Natural History. 
We are using genomic approaches to understand the molecular basis of 
evolution and development in plants.  The individual will be 
responsible for tissue collection, cDNA library preparation, gene 
expression studies, as well as upkeep of lab equipment, ordering 
supplies, collecting tissues samples, and EST sequence and 
bioinformatic databases.  The individual will also engage in research 
to study gene structure and expression and and will utilize 
developmental morphological studies.  A MS or B.A. in Biological 
Science and molecular biology research experience is required. 
Knowledge of Botany, Molecular Genetics and Bioinformatics is 
preferred.  Experience with RNA work, cDNA library construction, 
plant anatomical work, and/or computer programming is ideal.  A
