The Genetic Discovery Group of DuPont Crop Genetics is looking for
highly motivated individuals at the research associate or senior
research associate level. Successful candidates will utilize a
genetic approach in Arabidopsis to identify candidate genes for
agronomic trait improvement in crop plants. Primary responsibilities
will include characterizing mutant phenotypes, identifying the genes
that confer those phenotypes, and verifying gene function. The
successful candidates will display a high degree of independence in
conducting experiments. Experience with standard molecular biology
techniques is essential, including: DNA/RNA isolation, blot
hybridization (radioactive), cloning techniques, and PCR
amplification. In addition, experience with Arabidopsis growth and
phenotype analysis, and ability to manage large data sets (such as
Excel spreadsheets), is desirable.
Master's degree or equivalent experience is required; however, these
positions are not suitable for individuals at the PhD level.
DuPont is a global research- and technology-based company committed

Group is to identify agriculturally important genes in crop and model
species. Our facility provides state-of-the-art instrumentation for
genomic approaches, such as high throughput sequencing, high density
microarray analysis, and advanced bioinformatic systems, as well as
access to the world-wide field testing resources of Pioneer Hi-Bred
and interactions with a thriving scientific community. We are located
in Wilmington, Delaware, in an area that offers an attractive
lifestyle with easy access to various cultural, academic and
recreational activities in the middle East Coast region.
