JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
NSF-funded Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of
Illinois, Urbana IL

JOB DESCRIPTION
Seeking an individual to assume a leadership role in the genetic
characterization of nodulation. The project will focus on the use of
microarrays to determine the genomic response of soybean root hair
cells to Bradyrhizobium inoculation and the use of various molecular
techniques such as gene fusions, RNAi, and over expression to
functionally characterize responsive genes of interest.

EDUCATION
Ph. D. in genetics, plant molecular biology, plant pathology or a
related discipline is required.  Expertise in plant molecular biology,
plant-microbe interactions, and genomics is desirable as are skills in
written and oral communications and a demonstrated desire and
ability to conduct independent research.

SALARY
Commensurate with training and experience.  Funding is for two
years with the possibility of 2 one-year extensions.

STARTING DATE
January 1, 2005, or until a suitable candidate is available.

CLOSING DATE
