A Postdoctoral position is available as part of SY-STEM, a new Marie-Curie
Research and training Network that focusses on Systems biology approaches to
analyse stem cell function in Arabidopsis thaliana. The postholder will work
at the Institute of Genetics, University of Duesseldorf, in the laboratory
of Prof. Ruediger Simon. Members of the SY-STEM network will collaborate
closely to use genetic, molecular and cellular approaches, imaging,
large-scale genomic and modeling technqiues to address key questions of
plant meristem function. The Network is funded by the EU, starting in
=46ebruary 2005 or at a suitable later date. This 3-year post is open for
(non-german) nationals of the European Union or associated countries.

students, two diploma students and two technicians. Language in the lab is
english.
The successful candidate needs to be strongly motivated, able to work in an
internationally competitive research area and have expertise in molecular
genetics/developmental biology and knowledge of, or strong interest in,
plant development. Previous experience in Arabidopsis genetics would be an
