The Carolina Postdoctoral Program for Faculty Diversity

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

As part of a continuing commitment to advance underrepresented
scholars in higher education, The University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill is pleased to announce the availability of several
positions in the Carolina Postdoctoral Program for Faculty Diversity.
If Postdoctoral Scholars would like to teach they can, but not more
than one course per year, and will spend essentially full time on
research. Applications for study in any discipline represented at
the University are welcome. The Department of Biology at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill strongly encourages
candidates interested in plant biology to apply.

The Stipend will be $35,625 per calendar year. Health benefits are
available. Some funds are available for research expenses including
travel. Minority students who will have completed their doctoral
degree no later than July 1, 2005, and no earlier than July 1, 2001
are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to U.S. citizens and
permanent residents. This program is funded by the State of North
Carolina and places emphasis on underrepresented minorities.

A complete application will include curriculum vitae, sample
publications and/or dissertation chapters, a statement of research
plans, three letters of recommendation, an application and a
statement of why you should be selected for the program.
Applications can be found at
<http://research.unc.edu/red/postdoc.html>http://research.unc.edu/red/postdoc.html.
