Laboratory Manager (Genomics Program)
The Plant Genomics Consortium at The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG)
seeks applicants for a position in NSF funded plant genomics research.
The consortium includes scientists from the NYBG, New York University,
and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. We are using genomic approaches to
understand the molecular basis of evolution and development in ancient
seed plants. The individual will be responsible for tissue collection,
cDNA library preparation, gene expression studies, as well as upkeep of
lab equipment, ordering supplies, collecting tissues samples, and EST
sequence and bioinformatic databases. The individual will also engage
in research to study gene structure and expression. A degree with B.A.
or MS in Biological Science and molecular biology research experience is
required. Knowledge of Botany, Molecular Genetics and Bioinformatics is
preferred. Experience with RNA work, cDNA library construction, plant
anatomical work, and computer programming is ideal. A unique
