[Arabidopsis] Postdoc Position

Quinn Li liq at muohio.edu
Fri Oct 28 09:03:41 EST 2005

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available to study the biochemical and
molecular mechanism of plant mRNA polyadenylation. Funded by the US
National Science Foundation¹s Arabidopsis 2010 Program, the goal of the
project is to understand the functions of a set of proteins and their
encoding genes in mRNA polyadenylation, 3¹-end formation, and potentially,
in transcription termination. We are using two main approaches: biochemical
tools to explore the roles of the proteins during polyadenylation, and
functional genomic tools to study the roles of the genes in gene expression
regulation, plant growth and development. For further information, please
visit www.users.muohio.edu/liq.
A Ph.D. in biochemistry, plant biology or related fields is required.
Experience in biochemical, molecular biology, and/or genetics research is
essential. Knowledge of functional genomics and/or bioinformatics is
desirable. The initial appointment will be for one year starting Jan. 2,
2006, and the reappointment will depend on successful performance.
Interested individuals should send an application package (a cover letter
detailing experience, CV, reprints, and names, telephone numbers and e-mail
addresses of three references) to: Dr. Q. Quinn Li, Botany Department, Miami
University, Oxford, Ohio 45056, USA; e-mail: liq at muohio.edu. Evaluation of
applications will begin on Nov. 11, 2005 until the position is filled.
