Research Associate Position in Seed Oil Biochemistry  

University of British Columbia

Vancouver, Canada


We are looking for a well-trained, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual interested in exploring the relative contribution of different enzymes of trialcylglycerol (TAG) assembly to the overall TAG content of the seed in Arabidopsis.  


The applicant must have expertise in molecular biological techniques, computer aided databank handling, production and analysis of transgenic plants, a good understanding of genetics, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in plant biochemistry, especially in the area of plant lipid metabolism, and previous experience with Arabidopsis and/or yeast would be highly desirable. 


The position is available immediately for an initial period of 1 year, with a possibility for extension subject to satisfactory performance.
