Registration for the 18th International Conference on Arabidopsis Research
is now open!

**Important: All international participants must obtain a Chinese visa and
also possess a valid passport. An official invitation letter will be issued
to those who have completed the registration process which can be taken to a
local Chinese Embassy or Consulate to apply for an entry visa. Early
registration is recommended to allow time for visa processing.

'Early-bird' registration deadline (with reduced fees): March 20, 2007
Abstract submission begins: Feb. 1st, 2007
Deadline for submitted abstracts to be considered for oral presentation:
March 20, 2007
Deadline for submitted abstract for poster presentation to be included in
abstract book: May 10, 2007
Deadline for accommodation registration: May 10, 2007
Deadline for Exhibitor Arrangements: March 20, 2007

Conference flyer:
The 18th International Conference will be held in Beijing, China, marking
the first time the annual meeting will be held in an Asian country. In
addition to presentations of significant and innovative Arabidopsis-based
research, the conference will include discussions of other relevant plant
systems throughout most of the sessions. This complementary approach will
emphasize the importance and usefulness of Arabidopsis as the reference
plant and its impact on other systems.
The meeting will be held at the Jiuhua Spa and Resort, a comprehensive
deluxe resort located on the grounds of the ancient Qing and Ming dynasties
on the outskirts of the lively international city of Beijing. The Resort is
arranged around numerous natural hot springs and provides a variety of
on-site recreation, entertainment and fitness-related activities, as well as
dozens of restaurants serving a diverse assortment of Chinese regional
cuisines.

Registration Fees
Registration fee includes one abstract submission, admission to conference
sessions and exhibitions, Reception Dinner, meals for each of the three
conference days, coffee breaks, Conference Dinner and Farewell Party,
Conference bag and materials, final program and Abstract book. Publication
of your abstract will be guaranteed upon receipt of your registration fee.
Important Visa information
Valid visas are required to enter China. An official invitation letter will
be issued to those who have returned the final Registration Form. With this
letter, you can go to the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate to apply for
entry visa. To allow ample time to secure visas you should register by the
early deadline (March 20, 2007).
Workshop information
As for past conferences, rooms will be provided for the three evenings of
June 20, 21 and 22 (8:00pm-11:00pm) for selected self-organized workshops.
Those interested in organizing a workshop should first contact Joanna
Friesner (MASC Coordinator, jdfriesner At stanford.edu or
jdfriesner At ucdavis.edu) with a topic title and tentative speaker list.
