Dear Colleagues:
17th International Symposium on Plant Lipids, July16-21, 2006 in East Lansing
The 17th International Symposium on Plant Lipids will be held on the campus
of Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, USA, July 16 - 21,
2006. Beginning in 1974 with 90 attendees, the Biannual International
Symposium on Plant Lipids (ISPL) has grown to be the most significant
conference for its field. Research on plant lipids is vital and exciting
with major new developments occurring in the areas of trafficking,
subcellular organization, metabolic engineering, signaling, flux analysis,
network regulation etc. Beyond the traditional core topics, this meeting
will include a number of invited speakers working on non-plant models to
stimulate cross-fertilization between plant and non-plant researchers. In
addition, a special workshop on "algal models for plant lipid metabolism"
and a special session on "lipid profiling and high-throughput methods" have
been organized. For registration information, preliminary program,
instructions for submitting abstracts, and for information on financial aid
available for young scientists to attend the meeting, please visit the
meeting website at http://www.ispl2006.msu.edu/. Members of
underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply for financial aid.
