**Systems Biology Approaches to Analysis of Metabolic and Regulatory
Networks of Arabidopsis Workshop during the 17th Annual International
Conference on Arabidopsis Research**

(June 28-July 2nd, 2006, Madison, WI)

A major challenge in the post-genome era is to understand how interactions
among the molecules in a cell determine its form and function. High
throughput data, visualization and modeling approaches, together with
information about current understanding of Arabidopsis networks, can be
integrated to create new opportunities to explore Arabidopsis biology. In
this workshop, new, publicly available software and platforms will be
demonstrated that use 'omics data together with known networks to address
the molecular networks of Arabidopsis. These tools integrate disparate
information types (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, metabolic
flux, literature) and facilitate the development of hypotheses to assign
gene function and predict cellular behavior.
