Dear Colleagues, a reminder to register soon if you plan to attend:
The Third Annual Biosafety and Biosecurity Training Course will be held
this summer at the Hilton Fort Collins in Fort Collins, Colorado. Room
rates are $92 for single or double, and $112 for suites. The cutoff
date for hotel reservations is May 24. The hotel phone number is
970-482-2626, and the room block is "Biosafety and Biosecurity."
The course will start July 7, and run through July 14.
July 7, 8, and 9 will be animal oriented (1 day on large animal ABSL-2
and -3 facilities, containment, etc; 1 day on small animal ABSL-2 and -3
facilities and containment; 1/2 day on veterinary hospital, clinic, and
farm and ranch Biosecurity ((infection control)). The afternoon of the
9th will be open for your enjoyment of the Fort Collins and Rocky
Mountain National Park areas.
July 10 and 11 will be general Biosafety and Biosecurity (BMBL, rDNA
Guidelines, Biosafety committees, other administration aspects, risk
assessment, Select Agent regulations and administration, HEPA filters
and biosafety cabinet certification)
July 12, 13, 14 will be plant oriented (containment of recombinant
plants, infectious disease research with plants, biopharm, regulations,
permits, plant disease diagnostic lab network, diseases of crops). We
will finish with lunch at noon the 14th.

The cost for the course is as follows:
Animal and General sessions, July 7-11, $1200
Plant and General sessions, July 10-14, $1200
Complete training course, July 7 - 14, $1500
Registration includes dinner July 8 (Animal and Complete Course
registrants) and/or July 12 (Plant and Complete Course registrants),
lunches, and breaks, and all course material. A class photo and
certificate will be given to all who complete the course.
We anticipate full enrollment, so make your course and hotel
reservations early.
