[Arabidopsis] 4-MUG problem

Hi all
 
As I did not get fluorescence in the positive control when I measured GUS activity and I dissolve 4-MUG in methanol. I wonder (1) for how long is it possible to keep a solution of 4-MUG at -20C? (2) If a solution of 4-MUG get contaminated could change of color how is reported for X-Glux?
