Two Research Assistant positions are available from 1 July 2007 to provide research support in two newly established, dynamic groups (Lipka and Zipfel) studying plant innate immunity, and to assist in the day-to-day running of the laboratory.
The Sainsbury Laboratory is a charitable company of 70 research scientists and support staff and a world leader in plant science. We are based on the Norwich Research Park and closely linked to the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, University of East Anglia and the John Innes Centre.

Applicants should have a degree in biological sciences, or equivalent, and preferably will have strong skills in molecular biology. Previous experience with plants is an advantage, but is not required. The successful applicant will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be highly motivated.
This fixed-term position is for three years in the first instance and will be available from July 2007. The salary, Grade 6 on the UEA scale, will be in the range £21,050 - £28,290, the appointment level reflecting qualifications, skills, knowledge and achievements.
