[Arabidopsis] Why does Arabidopsis have so many pectate lyases?

Hi, all:
  When I was doing Arabidopsis sequence analysis, I found this plants has ~ 30 pectate lyases, why does Arabidopsis have so many pectate lyases?
  Would you please help me to explain this?
