The first community workshop on the newly proposed International Arabidopsis
Informatics Consortium (IAIC) will be held at the Plant and Animal Genome
(PAG) meeting in San Diego in January, 2011.

Community members who wish to learn more about the IAIC (its goals, how it
is envisioned to develop over the next few years, and also about funding
opportunities in conjunction with the IAIC) are invited to attend. This
meeting will focus on conveying the purpose of the IAIC and developing a
community dialog on how the IAIC should be shaped (including soliciting
nominations for the IAIC Scientific Advisory Board.) In addition, we hope to
discuss how Arabidopsis informatics 'modules' may be developed by the
community as part of the IAIC. A goal is that examples may be developed to
discuss at the second IAIC community workshop planned for the International
Conference on Arabidopsis Research (ICAR) in Madison, Wisconsin (June 22-25,
2011). At this workshop we hope that there will be one or more examples of
prospective IAIC modules to share.
