The North American Arabidopsis Steering Committee (NAASC) has
applied to the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) for funding to:
(1) aid students/researchers from U.S. institutions that are members of
under-represented minority groups and/or faculty from
federally-designated U.S. Minority-Serving Institutions, Historically
Black Colleges and Universities, and 1890 Institutions.
*you can only receive this award twice in your lifetime
Depending on funding, NAASC will provide up to 8 awards to support full
participation.
Awards have a defined budget to cover early-bird registration (must
register by March 1), economy accommodations, economy travel expenses,
and non-conference meals (if budget allows).
(2) aid early career U.S. Researchers to attend the meeting.
Depending on funding- we hope to partially defray meeting
travel costs of up to $1850 for each of eight early career award recipients.
U.S. Citizens/permanent residents only may apply (please see application for
all requirements, including the requirements to
submit a research abstract, and present a poster and/or talk at the
conference, if awarded travel funds.)
