A postdoctoral position is available in the Plants for Human Health Institute at North Carolina State University (Kannapolis, NC) to investigate the molecular mechanisms of lignin-modification-induced-dwarfism in Arabidopsis thaliana. The project focuses on characterizing newly isolated suppressor mutants that are defective in lignin biosynthesis but exhibit alleviated growth phenotype.
Requirements: Ph.D. in biochemistry, genetics, cell biology or related areas; Good written and verbal communication skills; Highly self-motivated. Candidates with research experience in plant growth and development are especially encouraged to apply.
