Tenure-track Faculty Position in Genetics at UW-Madison

The Department of Genetics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track.

The Department of Genetics, in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS), is part of the Laboratory of Genetics (www.genetics.wisc.edu<http://www.genetics.wisc.edu>), which includes 21 faculty members in CALS and the School of Medicine and Public Health with diverse research interests focused on using genetic analyses and model organisms to interrogate biological systems. The department is a hub for genetic research and training on campus and offers opportunities for collaborations with faculty in basic and translational science departments. The department directs an NIH Graduate Training Grant in Genetics that features trainers from 30 departments and continuous funding over 42 years.

The successful applicant will develop an internationally recognized, extramurally funded research program in genetics-genomics relevant to fundamental aspects of inheritance or its phenotypic manifestation at the molecular, organismal, or population level. Responsibilities include directing an independent research program, participating in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, and mentoring. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Genetics or related field and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and teaching.  Modern laboratory space and substantial resources are available.
