14.0pt'>The Plant Genomics Consortium at The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG)
seeks graduate students interested in National Science Foundation funded evolutionary
plant genomics research program. The Consortium is a multidisciplinary
group composed of scientists from NYBG, </span></font><font size=4><span
style='font-size:14.0pt'>New York</span></font><font size=4><span
style='font-size:14.0pt'> </span></font><font size=4><span style='font-size:
14.0pt'>University</span></font><font size=4><span style='font-size:14.0pt'>,
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and the </span></font><font size=4><span
style='font-size:14.0pt'>American</span></font><font size=4><span
style='font-size:14.0pt'> </span></font><font size=4><span style='font-size:
14.0pt'>Museum</span></font><font size=4><span style='font-size:14.0pt'> of
Natural History. We are using genomic approaches to understand the
molecular basis of evolution and development in ancient, living seed plants
including cycads, ginkgo, and non-seed plants such as <i><span
style='font-style:italic'>Selaginella</span></i>. The future student will
have the opportunity to engage in research to examine the origins and
diversification of genes and how these changes led to the appearance of unique
and important structures. The student will have the opportunity to gain
expertise in Botany, Development, Molecular Genetics and Genomics and
