I would like to try my hand at image processing and analysis on
microarray images, but I'm having a bit of a problem getting some
sample data. Everything I've found so far at most of the standard
databases are 8 bit .gif images, which aren't really very suitable for
developing new algorithms for spot/background intensity estimates,
because its difficult to accurately seperate the 2 dye colors.
Ideally I'd like to be able to work on the original pair of 16 (or 8
even) bit .tiff images that come directly from the scanners, but I
haven't been able to find samples of such images online. Anyone know
if I can get these somewhere?
