POSTDOCTORAL POSITION

performance and continued funding.
Description: BarleyBase - Database for Affymetrix Barley GeneChip
Data- is a collaborative project of Iowa State University and
USDA/NRI to develop a next-generation barley database for
transcriptome and gene product data. The BarleyBase Biological
Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the biological integrity
of the data, seeking out new data sources, and evaluating the pieces
of information that need to be stored in support of research
applications. The database manager will check for conformation to
MIAME standards, administer the database, and manage communications
with remote investigator groups so that all relevant biological
information from experiments will appear as required or permitted
fields in the database schema. The successful applicant will be
working closely with a team of database and web programmers and will
interact with the International Triticeae user community.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Genetics, Plant Physiology,
Bioinformatics or related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Affymetrix GeneChip systems
and familiarity with MIAME standards for microarray experiments.
Salary/Wage: $40,000-52,000, commensurate with experience
