EMERALD (Empowering the Microarray-Based European Research Area to Take
a Lead in Development and Exploitation) is a project to establish and
disseminate quality metrics (QC), microarray standards and best
laboratory practices (QA) throughout the European microarray community
(http://www.microarray-quality.org/).
The EMERALD consortium would like to announce three travel grants for
PhD students who are citizens of the European Union member states to
help them to participate in the Annual Microarray Gene Expression Data
Society meeting (http://mgedmeeting.org/) Sept 3rd-5th 2007, Brisbane,
Australia. Each scholarship will pay up to Euro 1500 towards travel
expenses. Eligible candidates must be a presenting first author on an
abstract for poster or oral presentation and must be a student at the
time of registering for the conference. Scholarships are intended for
students who otherwise could not afford to attend after exclusion of all
other possible institutional/group assistance schemes. The EMERALD
Coordination Action aims at developing and implementing quality metrics
and microarray data
quality standards. Abstracts related to microarray data quality and
standards will be given preference.
Information on how to apply can be found at the web page:
