I think I would advise the patient that you would be happy to fit the
hearing aid, but would have to charge fair prices to cover your time,
effort, overhead etc. I would also advise the patient to contact the
clinic where the hearing aid was initially ordered and ask/demand a
partial refund. We all know that fitting a hearing aid is not simply
placing an order. This is especially true for a more expensive
I regulary have advised patients who live a good distance away, unless I
am the closest/sole source of services for that individual, that they
would be much better served to be fitted locally.
