I had a stapendectomy about six years ago - the results were OK - but not great. My ENT now suggest a stapedotomy on my other ear - As I understand it He drills a .7mm hole in the oval window and put in a .6mm piston - this piston is connected to the ear drum (via a con-rod??). Does anybody know anything more about a ‘stapedotmy’? Bill Thomson
