While on vacation last week, I met a 47-year old woman who said she woke up one morning around a year ago with absolutely no hearing in one ear. In spite of dozens of medical tests (MRI, CAT,etc.) and examinations by neurologists, ENTs, etc., she is still totally deaf in one ear. Does anyone have any idea what could cause something like this?
