A hearing aid is a hearing aid is absolutely true on the surface and a
Certified clinical Audiologist is good but it is not the only hearing
professional that can help...All hearing aids are not created
equal...Some offer standard linear technology, some offer programmable
technology and now we have true digital technology...This is very
simplified but what is important is that the person fitting your
instrument be competent....Weather they are a traditional Dispenser,
Audiologist or an ENT...Just having a degree or state certification to
dispense does not make them Dispensers...Ask around...Speak to
friends...Sit in front of any office and ask the people leaving...When
you decide who you will see remember that you can walk out and go
elsewhere...Be sure that any instrument offer at least a 30 day money
back guarantee...Ask if you could try a pair at home for a couple of
days before deciding...Make your Dispenser aware of your financial
situation if that's a problem...If money is really an issue ask about
used or organizations like Ear of the Lion who will help people with
minimum resources...This is not a process that should be rushed...Good
luck and let us know what happens...GG
