The latest issue of the Torchbearer (Audiology Foundation of America)
announced a new Au.D program. It will start up in Janury of 1997 at Nova
Southeastern University. It will include a Doctor of Audiology and
Doctor of Speech-Langue Pathology. It will target employed practicioners
holding master's degrees.
"The coursework wil be offered in weekend and intensive summer institute
formats. The format will include interactive video and computer
technologies to enhance the exchange of information between faculty and
students."
There is no mention of a requirement for science courses.
The proposed curricula span a three-year time period with courses
offering the gaduating professional success in four general goal
categories: leadership, knowledge, problem-solving, and perspective
related to Communication Sciences and Disorders.
No information was given about faculty members.
This university is in Florida. I don't think it presently has an
audiology program, but, that may be wrong. Anyone know?
