Treatments for Tinnitus

I would like to get some opinions on treatments for tinnitus. I have read about 
vitamin supplements, herbs, sound masking, etc. but I would like to get some 
honest opinions. I do understand that tinnitus can not be cured. I am 
interested in possibly reducing the "ringing". I have tinnitus in both ears 
which has resulted in a 45-60 db loss from about 2000 hz on up. 

If any of these treatments do work is there a chance of possibly improving my 
upper frequency hearing.
