I would strongly suggest that the ABR be performed. I have had several children with "normal" SRT's that have hearing impairments. However, it's very possible that the fluid was causing that degree of hearing loss. In any event, it's extremely important that as a parent you remain a strong advocate for your child. GOOD Luck!
