Re hearing loss after a cold: there are several possibilities: there is
still some ETO present, the patient is just plain exausted, some of the
outer hair cells are still impaired and will show on otoacoutic emission
test, some of the high tones 10,000 and up are out, still taking
antihistamines which slow the patient and the ET cilia, and others. We
are finding complaints of not hearing with normal audio in sudden loss at
10,000 and up. Also, with some of the outer hair cells out. Try these
tests to see if this is the problem. This im important because if these
are the causes, probably need more treatment/rest to recover fully.
