problem: rattling sensation in ears

This sounds like a 'tic' reflex in one of the muscles in the middle
 ear....similar to what is experienced in the eyelid or finger but generated by
 the high pitched sounds you describe.

I have had the same sensation for years when a shower is running and my head is
 turned a certain way.....it is interesting, and I tried looking it up via the
 literature but found nothing.

I do not believe it is clinical significant, only of interest as an isolated
 phenomena.
