Otosclerosis question

I suffer from otosclerosis, currently wear aids, and my hearing is
deteriorating. I have decided it is time to have an operation.

My questions are,
1. how do I find the best surgeon for my condition (In Australia) The 2
specialists I have seen so far, offer no help and instil no confidence.

2. What is the current state of the art (i.e. laser surgery?)

3. Any thing else I should know before hand?
