and Clinical Practice.

The NHS2010 is approaching ... three weeks to go!
About 300 communications will be presented in four concurrent Sessions
together with Keynote addresses, Workshops, a number of Satellite Events
and Special Sessions on: Etiology of childhood deafness; Genetics of
hearing loss; Screening newborns; EHDI protocols and technologies; Surveys
on EHDI programs; Diagnostic evaluation; Auditory findings in infants;
Evoked potentials; Wideband acoustic reflectance; Speech production; Early
intervention; Speech and language; Auditory Neuropathy; Hearing Aids;
Cochlear Implants; Child outcomes; Counseling and adjustment; Focus on
Families; Professional training and support.
The England National Health Service (NHS) Newborn Hearing Screening
Programme will be running a series of linked workshops on the theme of
delivering an effective screening program.

Oticon Paediatric Symposium
Oticon is happy to host yet another Paediatric Symposium - this time held
in corporation with Interacoustics. The Symposium will take place on
Wednesday, June 9th from 10.30 - 13.45 PM, including lunch. The paediatric
hearing aid fitting has become a more complicated process involving many
different instruments and multiple measurements on which the fitting and
validation is based. The Symposium will take a holistic approach from
diagnosis to fitting and verification within paediatrics.

Widex Special event
Mild hearing loss in childhood consequences and intervention strategies
This Widex special event will be hosted by Anne Marie Tharpe, PhD, from
Vanderbilt University and Marlene Bagatto, Au.D, from University of Western
Ontario. We will be focusing on the educational and psychosocial
consequences of permanent mild bilateral hearing loss in children.
Strategies and guidelines for assessment, intervention and amplification
will be discussed.
