Red Horizontal Streaks

Dear Sequencers,

A few months back I put a gel picture on the ftp site
<ftp://venus.icr.ac.uk/pub/autoseq/red%20horizontal%20streaks.bin>

It showed what looked like Genescan standards intermittently appearing on a
sequencing gel.  Nobody came up with a good explanation to claim the prize
I offered.

The cause was:
a crack in the flex cable between the laser and the CCD camera
It eventually grew larger and failed altogether ruining a run

Hope you don't suffer the same glitch
