Broken back plates due to grey cassettes?

We have had a problem with many broken back plates for our 377.  This
problem began when we switched to the grey cassettes from the older
black ones.  The plates are all cracking and breaking at the bottom by a
little raised plastic pin that is on the cassette.  Has anyone else
noticed this?
