Technician positions are open in both the Genome Sequencing Center and the
DNA Sequencing Facility of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, located
in New York City. The primary responsibilities of the positions are
performance of DNA sequencing with the ABI 3700 and ABI 377 systems in a
high throughput laboratory setting. Responsibilities include preparation
of samples, operation of automated sequencers, computer analysis of primary
data, data management, sequence finishing, and testing new technologies.
Applicants must be able to work both independently and as part of a team,
be detail oriented, possess good communication skills, be experienced with
computers, and be familiar with basic molecular biology techniques.
Experience in automated DNA sequencing is preferred. A bachelor's degree
in biology or chemistry or related science and some lab experience are
